Community Impact:
Supporting Worthy Causes Both Locally and Globally

A Philosophy Grounded In Community Impact & Heart-Inspired Leadership

Transformational Leadership is being a catalyst for unleashing forces for good in the world. The ensuing ripple effect is felt both locally and globally. When it comes to leadership, we truly get what we give. Contributing to something bigger than ourselves brings a sense of connection, fulfilment, and meaning like no other. It expands our hearts and minds and we realize that we are part of something bigger and that our legacy can live on.

Giving empowers us and those we help, and the ripple effect can be felt beyond our imagination. Like the time I shared hundreds of free electronic copies of my book around the globe, and then out of the blue, I received a message from a young man in Ghana, thanking me for sharing my book as the lessons he gained helped him land a good-paying manager's job at a coffee plantation.

The following causes are near and dear to me.

Mustakabali Wetu-Our Future NGO

Co-Founder, Co-Chair and Director of International Resources Acquisition

I am working with the family of my late friend, Geoffrey Kihara Ndoigo, to keep his dream alive to uplifting the lives of vulnerable children. Together, we are growing this Kenyan-based NGO to support children and youth with their nutrition, education, empowerment, and early leadership development.

We started with helping 16 children and our vision is to grow that number to 200 by 2028. Our longer-term vision includes building a centre to provide vocational training in a farm donated by the family and matriarch, Christine Ndoigo, Chair, and headed by Sophie Ndoigo, CEO.

Member of The Board of Directors

I was honoured to be asked to join as Board Director by Dominique Dennery, Founder and President. At the Obsidian Leadership Development Centre, we are developing an online portal to support Black and racialized leaders. The four pillars include workshops within organizations, leadership coaching, e-tools and communities of learning. As Dominique describes, "At the Obsidian Leadership Development Centre, Black and racialized leaders find transformational tools to navigate the power imbalances they face as a result of systemic racism, communities of learning and peer support, and persistent validation of their career aspirations.”

Chair of The Executive Programs Committee

I am proud to be part of Elevate International team of executive advisor volunteers. Our mission is to advance women's and girl's leadership and economic power globally. As Chair of the Executives Program Committee, I am collaborating with Solange Tuyishime, President and CEO, and her team to launch the Champions' Program, a state of the art leadership development and mentorship program, for women in middle-management and director positions to be matched with mentors who are vice presidents and CEO or equivalent, across sectors and industries.

Former Member of the Board of Directors

I am proud to have served on the Board for the Community navigators of Eastern Ontario for three years before leaving to concentrate on building up Mustakabali Wetu-Our Future NGO from the ground up. Even before I joined the Board in 2022, I promoted their important mission to connect people to the community resources they need, ranging from helpful programs and services to the latest local news or free meals lists. The 211 helpline helps people in Eastern Ontario to navigate many of life’s challenges. I continue to be inspired by the dedicated team of people who share a deep passion for helping people in our community.
